I have caught many bass on the Smoke Black and purple flake.

For many years this was my go to bait for Bass. The secret color for me was 301. I've tried many other colors and this one out fished the rest by far. I've purchased thousands of them in 301. Friends would say that 297 and 369 would work just as well but I usually changed their minds when I out fished them by a pretty big margin. I used them in two ways Texas Rigged with a #1 worm hook and a 1/64 oz. bullet weight or on a drop shot. For some reason last year Yamamoto discontinued this color. Since that color is still available in most of the other Senko's it was mind boggling they stopped it for the 5" thin. After some emails and phone calls I couldn't get an answer as to why they would do this. One customer agent said just buy the Pro Senko. I have tried that but the profile of that bait is different and just doesn't produce the same result. I'm still hoping they come to their senses and add that color again. I would give it 5+ stars if that happened.

Works great! Especially with the the drop shot and wacky rig when the fishing slowed!

This bait was my secret producer for years. The magic color was 301. I've used them all and that color was noticeably better than all the rest. It wasn't much of a secret really since that was the only color that would be sold out of all the online stores sometimes. For some reason Yamamoto decided this to stop making it in 301 this year. That's the worst news ever for me and a few other people I know. If I had all the money I spent on that 301 thin Senko over the years I could probably buy a car. PLEASE Yamamoto bring that color back.
